Carolyn Waldo has learned to face fear and rise to the challenge. At a young age, Waldo almost drowned and developed a fear of the water.

She only learned how to swim at the age of 10. By the time she was 23, Waldo won 2 gold Carolyn Waldo carries the Canadian flag at the 1988 Olympicsmedals in synchronized swimming at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul Korea, becoming the first Canadian woman to win 2 gold medals at the same Olympic games. She also captured a silver medal at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles.

She is a successful sports broadcaster at CTV Ottawa, a proud mother of two teenagers, and a leader in the community who has drawn upon her skills from the Olympics and transfered them into her everyday life.
