Discover your possibilities
Carolyn Waldo has learned to face fear and rise to the challenge. At a young age, Waldo almost drowned and developed a fear of the water.
She only learned how to swim at the age of 10. By the time she was 23, Waldo won 2 gold
medals in synchronized swimming at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul Korea, becoming the first Canadian woman to win 2 gold medals at the same Olympic games. She also captured a silver medal at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles.
On top of being Canada's 1988 Olympic flagbearer, Waldo is:
- a 6-time world champion
- a Lou Marsh Award winner
- 4-time Canadian Female Athlete of the year
- member of the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame
- an Officer of the Order of Canada.
Waldo is an animated and passionate speaker, inspiring a full range of audiences to discover the possibilities in their own lives.
